Our next Baptism Preparation course will be held at Holy Redeemer (via Zoom) on Saturday, November 20th at 10:00 a.m. Please contact Jennifer in the office to register: reception@holyredeemer.ca

The Baptism Process
The first step in the baptism process is to attend the baptismal preparation course where our Pastor, Fr. Paul, will explain the baptism process and the requirements for both parents and godparents. The course generally lasts between 1.5 and 2 hours. During COVID-19 restrictions we are asking parents to please leave their children at home if possible.

Our Lovely Baptism Team
Each year we have between 100 and 150 at Holy Redeemer! Closely involved with all of these ceremonies are the members of the Parish Baptism Team. Team members take turns carrying out the following functions:
• Visit the homes of candidates for Baptism to welcome the parents and children into our Parish Community and to obtain the information needed by the Church before the Baptism can take place.
• Participate in monthly training sessions where parents learn about the Sacrament of Baptism and have their questions about the ceremony answered.
• Assist in the preparations at the Church on the day of the Baptisms.

Beginning September, 2021, baptisms will be held on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month beginning at 1:00 p.m. with up to 4 families in attendance (4 babies/children under age 7 baptized at the same sitting).
