Holy Redeemer Parish - Knights of Columbus

About Knights of Columbus

The Knights of Columbus is the world's largest Catholic mens' service organization. It was founded by Fr. Michael J. McGivney on March 29, 1882. His vision for the Knights of Columbus organization was:

  • To aid one another
  • To strengthen our Faith
  • To strengthen family life
  • To support our priests & bishops
  • To aid Church and community

Our activities embrace the virtues of Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism. Fully committed to the Church and its teachings we Knights were honoured to be called by Pope John Paul II "the strong right arm of the Church."

Knights of Columbus Council 9544

KofC Council 9544 was founded on April 9th, 1987. Here, at Holy Redeemer, we Knights manifest Jesus' spirit of love and service in many ways: Our Golf Tournament annually raises more than $20,000 for various community needs such as the Kanata Hospice and the Youville Centre for single mothers. Our blood donor clinics help hospitals ensure an adequate supply of this precious fluid, while our Pro-Life "Rose Sunday" enables us to support those agencies who offer pregnancy support. Our after-mass pancake breakfasts, annual St. Patrick's evening, Children's Christmas Party and support of youth provide an opportunity for all parishioners to share with us in building a vibrant Catholic community here at Holy Redeemer.

So, for men of all ages and experience, we serving Knights warmly invite you to join us in Catholic service and comradeship as we engage in the world as Jesus taught.
